The log cabin was fantastic, especially the hot tub, which felt like an extra special treat after a few hours walking. Ideal position for exploring York and surrounding area. The restaurant at the Golf Club, Tykes, is only a short walk away and very good value for money with an extra 10% off for residents at Griffon Forest. Definitely recommend a relaxing stay here. Mrs W, Bury, Lancashire 31 March 2011
Griffon forest is the perfect getaway. The lodges are clean and homely and there are some welcoming touches for your arrival. The staff are courteous and friendly and there is plenty of on site information to help you explore the nearby attractions. If you want a peace and quiet, stress free environment, surrounded by beauty and stunning wildlife, then this is it! Mr W, Chorley, Lancashire 19 March 2011
A fantastic place to go to if you want to 'chill out' & get away from the rat race.
The hot tub was great & the log cabin was clean, warm & comfortable with all facilities required available. We saw lots of wild life & the forest walks were very pleasant. You could walk for miles or just take short walks. We took our 11 year old dog who also enjoyed himself. Mrs C, Sunderland, Tyne And Wear 17 March 2011
Definitely recommend this for anyone who wants some time to get away from it all. In fact there is no reason to move out of your cabin, it's a home from home. As long as you have your food and drink!! Mrs G, Northampton 13 March 2011
Relaxing, perfect location for visiting York, fun for all the family. Mr W, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne And Wear 01 March 2011
I'd recommend this type of holiday to anyone. If you like relaxing, then you need not even go far from the Log Cabin. The Hot Tub is to die for ... I love it ... I never missed an opportunity to get in there even when it was cold and raining ... it was amazing, any aches and pains just eased away. We also had plenty of visitors, including the cheekiest squirrel ever ... it had the bushiest tail and was quite fat and would sit on the end of the veranda, turn his back to you and shake his tail as though it was a dance ritual .... when we put out any nuts and seeds he was always the first one there. I can't wait to come back later in the year. Mrs P, LEEDS 18 February 2011
Booked agian for 2011 this will be our 3rd year at Griffon.. Excellent escape and location.. ideal for some quality R&R. Mr D, SOUTH SHIELDS 16 January 2011
Our First holiday at Griffon Forest, the lodge was lovely and the staff went that extra mile to make our stay fantastic. It was really relaxing and the hot tub, well, that was wonderful. Sat in the hot tub with champagne, stars shining above and on one night the badger that visited us nightly came to visit while we where in the hot tub. Some thing we will remember for a long time. We will without a doubt recommend the holiday at Griffon Forest to our friends and their families. Mrs B, Preston, Lancashire 06 January 2011
It is a perfect break to get away, very relaxing and tranquil, however close enough to York if you want to do all the tourist attractions. We went as a family and the children loved it but I'm sure as a romantic break or for a special occasion it would be perfect. Mrs M, Luton, Bedfordshire 06 January 2011
Fantastic place for total relaxation. Our first Christmas away and looking forward to next year already. Great location for York, the coast and moors. Great staff with nothing too much trouble. This was our 5th visit and can't wait for the next one!
Mr P, IPSWICH, SUFFOLK 30 December 2010
Lovely location and very private & quiet. Mrs T, Derby, Derbyshire 29 December 2010
We would recommend to family and friends for the ultimate relaxing, romantic, nature experience. Miss Q, Malvern, Worcestershire 21 November 2010
This is the 4th time we have holidayed at Griffon Forest and it never disappoints. From the cheery reception to the beautiful surroundings, I can't see us ever tiring of the place. I love the open plan of the lodge and sitting in the hot tub under the stars can't be beaten. It's a great base to visit places like Harrogate, Filey, Robin Hood's Bay etc. I can't fault the place and we have already booked to return for the New Year. Mrs N, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire 20 November 2010
Fastastic place, very peaceful, very well equipped, lovely to find somewhere that welcomes well behaved dogs. Highly recommend it. Mrs L, Axbridge, Somerset 26 October 2010
Staff are excellent. Ideally situated to visit York and central location to visit Yorkshires many wonderful attractions. The cabin was really well set up with a comforting hot tub which was used at the end of each day to relax. The neighbouring Golf Club is a wonderful bonus, which also provides nice food. Staff there are also very, very friendly. Thank you. Mrs R, Edinburgh, Midlothian 24 October 2010
We would recommend this holiday site to others as it was very accessible from our area. A lovely break away for a relaxing weekend. Mrs J, Rotherham, South Yorkshire 19 October 2010
Peaceful and relaxing and convenient for York. Nice private lodge in lovely setting, welcome flowers a nice touch, hot tub was great! Mr P, Mold, Clwyd 17 October 2010
We were allocated this lodge/site as the original one at Thirsk got cancelled (not by us) 2 weeks before we went. What a stroke of luck! We got a far better lodge that had an outside Jacuzzi. The location of the lodge in relation to all the others couldn't have been better! Our daughter has just started there at university so we will be staying there several times again, no doubt about it. It was magical and just hope we can get the same lodge again (but I'm keeping that a secret) We would definitely recommend Griffon Forest Lodges at any time of year. Mrs J, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire 12 October 2010
Already recommended to our friends. Mrs L, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire 05 October 2010
This is without doubt the most relaxing break we've ever had. The tranquil feel of the forest and the relaxation of sitting in an hot tub, outside, in the dark sipping wine really lets you lose the outside world. Thoroughly recommend. Mr B, Loughborough, Leicestershire 05 October 2010
Griffon Forest was exactly what we needed to relax and unwind away from it all and the usual hectic everyday lifestyle that we have. The surroundings are perfect to switch off and totally relax, chill out and unwind. We saw the badgers regularly at our cabin as well as loads of other wildlife. The hot tub was magnificent and eased away life's aches and pains. We will most definitely be back. Mrs B, Dunfermline, Fife 14 September 2010
Excellent, relaxing and enjoyable break, thank you. Enjoyed cycling through the forests and the driving range, and especially the hot tub. Ms L, HITCHIN, Hertfordshire 12 September 2010

Great for dogs.
Mrs W, WIGAN 03 August 2010
The facilities and furnishings in our log cabin were wonderful. The location was beautiful and very peaceful - although we were only a couple of miles away from York itself. There were plenty of places to eat and the location was convenient for the many attractions in the area. We would highly recommend Griffon Forest and will definitely be going there again. Mr D, DENBIGH 02 August 2010
The site is so peaceful I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because I want to return there for another holiday. If I told them how lovely it is I would never get a booking. Mr R, SALTCOATS, Ayrshire 27 July 2010
We had a fabulous weekend break. We were in the area for our sons wedding, we had extras for a barbeque on Sunday (including the bride and groom) and found the whole thing very relaxing, it just could not have been better.
Mrs B, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire 22 July 2010
We really enjoyed our stay at Griffon Forest - one of the most relaxing breaks we've had in a while. Mr H, EDINBURGH, Midlothian 16 July 2010
Griffon Forest was in a lovely position and all the lodges had private situations not overlooking each other. We chose this holiday so we could bring our dogs with us and it was perfect for that. We enjoyed trails and local walks. We used the day kennels only once, but they were also good quality in the shade. We visited a few of the local attractions advertised within the lodge's welcome pack, and if we had stayed longer we had identified a few more to visit. It was nice coming back to the lodge's hot tub after a long day out. We fully intend booking this venue again in the future. Mrs D, AYR, South Ayrshire 12 July 2010
A fabulous holiday. It was lovely to wake up to birdsong. The hot tub was brill and we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the lodge was. Mr K, Lincoln, Lincolnshire 05 July 2010
Excellent holiday, very relaxing and idyllic. Mr F, DEESIDE, Clwyd 14 June 2010
We will be recommending this holiday to all our friends. It's great how such a wonderful experience can be had just a couple of hours drive away. We will be returning again soon! Miss H, Liverpool, Merseyside 08 June 2010
I would recommend Griffin Forest to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday. We were very impressed with the facilities and cleanliness of the cabin and to be honest, it has been the best accomodation that we have had in several years of holidaying with the dog. There was so much to do around the area and we plan to come back at the end of the year. Mrs T, Deeside, Clwyd 07 June 2010
Very relaxing, Lovely lodge, ideal setting to get away from it all ... Mr H, Newport 06 June 2010
This holiday experience was blissfully peaceful and relaxing. As dog owners it was wonderful to find a location that was so welcoming and helpful to us and our dog. We think the complimentary day kennels a marvellous facility. Mrs N, LOUTH 22 May 2010
Great location, peace and quiet but close to all amenities if required. Staff friendly and helpful. Lodges well spaced from each other to give you privacy..some lodges ideal for romantic breaks, others can sleep families. Mrs W, Leeds, West Yorkshire 18 May 2010
Griffon Forest was like a home from home sanctuary in the middle of a forest, yet still near enough to civilisation with many places to visit, from beaches to city. We had an excellent stay, very relaxing and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. Mrs K, Stevenage, Hertfordshire 21 April 2010
I don't think Griffon Forest could be improved upon. This is a lovely quiet location. For me, the fact that the hot-tubs are emptied after every visit was a real bonus. We will definitely try and visit again. Mrs J, Macclesfield, Cheshire 13 April 2010
I would recomend Griffon forest as we have always found the service and cleanliness is second to none. The surrondings are very peacefull and relaxing as well as nice walks through the forest and local pubs should you wish to dine out. Mr S, CHESTERFIELD, Derbyshire 12 April 2010
Great hot tub, beautiful setting, smashing wildlife!!! Mrs M, BOLTON 05 April 2010
We loved the whole holiday. We wanted peace and quiet and that is just exactly what we got. There was so much space between the lodges and the hot tub was amazing. Would definitely visit again. Mrs H, HALIFAX, WEST YORKSHIRE 05 April 2010
I would recommend this holiday - we had an all girls one a couple of years ago a thoroughly enjoyed it so this time we decided to take our other halfs. We were a bit worried it would not compare with the last holiday but it was just as good and the men enjoyed the pub while the ladies had fun in the spa. FANTASTIC Mrs S, WAKEFIELD, West Yorkshire 27 March 2010
We thought the holiday was wonderful. Our lodge was beautiful and the location was idyllic. We usually take our short breaks at Centre Parcs, however a friend recommended Hoseasons, so we thought we would try something a little different. We were extremely impressed and are looking forward to booking our next Hoseasons holiday. Mr N, NANTWICH, Cheshire 08 March 2010
An excellent holiday, peaceful location, comfortable accomodation, wildlife on the doorstep, and using a hot-tub whilst it's snowing is just brilliant. Mrs E, CHORLEY 23 February 2010

A great park, nicely secluded yet still local to shops etc. On site day kennel is a boon and enables guests to have a day out shopping without the worry. The golf club provides excellent food in beautiful surroundings and is only a short walk from the cabins. Mrs S, ULVERSTON 04 August 2009
We were looking for a peaceful holiday in a rural location where we could see and hear wildlife. We also needed somewhere suitable for the needs of my disabled husband, and the holiday ticked all the boxes for us! It was lovely to encourage the birds with wild birdseed so close to the lodge, and on several occasions chaffinches would feed from the windowsills - a a great delight and we hope to return! Mrs A, SNODLAND, Kent 03 August 2009
This is a holiday for complete relaxation. If you love wildlife there is an abundance or if you love architecture there is plenty in York. If you love picturesque villages they are on your doorstep or you can just sit in the hot tub surrounded by trees and watch the squirrels and a vast array of birds and chill out. Don't forget to take some peanuts and they will come very close to you. They also have a badger set which you can view on TV, or take a walk to see but we were not lucky enough to see them while we were there, maybe because we retired early and badgers are night animals. Mr G, LOWESTOFT 28 July 2009
Griffin Forest was fantastic! The lodge was well equipped, beautifully furnished and very clean and tidy. Mrs B, GILLINGHAM 23 July 2009
The park setting was lovely, very secluded with glimpses of wildlife - we really felt we were in the middle of a remote forest. The location of the park was excellent with York a short drive away and if you fancy a trip to the seaside, Scarborough is just a little bit further. Lots of shopping and other attractions nearby made us feel spoilt for choice. Mrs B, DUNDEE 17 July 2009
The lodge was well equipped and very private - sitting in the hot tub we could only just see the roof of the next cabin behind us because our small garden was enclosed by trees and flowering rhodedendroms. Being on my own with three children I felt completely safe to walk around the many path through the surrounding woods and fields on the site, even at five in the morning when the numerous wildlife was suprised by my early walks with the dog. I would definitely recommend the holiday to others and the lovely hotel next to the park can be accessed easily on foot if you would like a nice drink or meal. Ms N, BARTON-UPON-HUMBER, South Humberside 10 July 2009
We spent one week at the park and did not want to leave. Very peaceful, lots of walking routes but you can also watch the wildlife from the comfort of your own balcony (lots of squirrels, rabbits and birds). We were lucky enough the see the badger on the sites wildlife CCTV channel. Not far from York and plenty of shopping facilities nearby. The lodge was very clean, well equipped and the reception sold many basics (and some luxuries too). All in all a great holiday for us with our 15 year old son who loves photography, he took hundreds of photos of scenery and wildlife. Mrs. K, Paisley 08 July 2009
This was a truly fantastic holiday. We got away from all the mayhem of day to day life and the park was set in the forest - tranquil and very beautiful. Mrs W, CHESHAM, Buckinghamshire 05 July 2009

An ideal holiday to get away from it all for a few days - great for couples, and dog friendly - we took the dog and went on some great walks.
